Its February, how are you doing on your new years resolutions? I set some goals for myself this year and I'm working at them slowly. I am motivated to look at my goals differently this year by Jon Acuff. His philosophy this year is not to plan to start something but plan to finish something or things this year. He has also talked about setting timelines so can keep the momentum all year long.
My Goals for this year include:
Reading more books: on new years I was trying to remember what books I read in 2011 and I couldn't think of more than 2, I want to change that. I have a list of 12, so my goal is to finish one every month. Progress: I finished a biography of Mary Slesser in January and have 3 books in progress.
Bible Reading plan: Our church proclaimed 2012's theme as the WORD. They are doing a church wide reading plan and blog. I haven't had a good disciplined Bible reading plan for a few years, time to jump back in. Progress: So far so good, I have skipped a few days but always caught up the next day, still on track. I'm taking it one day at a time.
Finish my quilt: I went on a quilting retreat with my mom in November and started a quilt, my goal in 2012 is to finish it. I only have to machine quilt, and bind it. Progress: I'm saving this goal until we move and are resettled to start this goal.
Learn how to use my camera: We bought a DSLR camera when our point and shoot bit the dust this summer. I want to learn how to use all the features and shoot well in manual mode. I got a book for Christmas that should help. Progress: I got a prime 50mm lens for my birthday, I read some online and of course i'm taking lots of pictures.
What goals did you set this year? How are you doing at keeping them?
