Scrapbook Saturday: New Blog

I am excited to announce that I am starting a scrapbooking blog.  I have thought about it for awhile, and this week was given the perfect excuse.  I was accepted as a Creative Team member for Digilicious Designs.  I will be helping promote her designs in the digital scrapbooking world in exchange for free kits. I am excited about this new opportunity and creative endeavor.

My new blog is C-Y Scraps.  I will be posting my pages there and other information related to the digital scrapbooking world.  Come follow me and check it out.

I will leave you with one last scrapbook page on this blog.

theStudio is doing a special party this month and has a challenge out to scrap wedding pictures, in addition to a design contest and other goodies.  I made this page and will be making some more from our wedding.

Scrapbook Saturday: Lydia in the Garden

This photo is from May 2010 when Lydia and I went to IL to visit family.  We were at my grandma's house and the grass needed to be cut.  It was up to Lydia's knees.  But the long grass also put the wild flowers at her level.

Scrapbook Saturday: Rolly Polly Boy

I did a fun challenge recently at the Studio.  It was a Progressive Scrap using their March mega kits "Boy." Each day I was sent a few more pieces to add to my page and instruction on how to use them.  This was my resulting page.

The pictures are of the many times and many more since I made this page that Caleb finds himself stuck somewhere.  He isn't crawling yet but sure finds his way around the house.  He finds himself stuck under chairs beds, couches, and behind other things.  We are in real trouble when he starts to crawl...

Scrapbook Saturday: A Mother's Love

This is one of my favorite scrapbook pages I have made ever.  I really like how the soft colors of the kit I used works with the intimate moment of the picture.  We found a photographer looking to build her portfolio who was doing free maternity and newborn pictures right when Caleb was born and this is one of the picture she took.

Scrapbook Saturday: First Haircut

It has happened all ready Caleb got his first haircut.  He was never a bald baby and doesn't look like he will be blond like his sister.  He has rubbed some of his hair off.  The long hair in the back was lopsided so it was time for a cut.  So the curls on the sides have been chopped off and he looks like quite a Little Man.  Look how long the hair that was cut was!

Scrapbook Saturday: LIfe Everyday

I have started completing challenges that earn me points towards coupons at the digital stores where I buy my kits.  This is one I made this week for a challenge.  I really like that I actually captured a good smile on both kids at the same time.  This challenge was to make a cluster around the picture,  it was the first time I had attempted it after reading a tutorial in the challenge.  Enjoy the cuteness!

Scrapbook Saturday: Flip-Flops

The weather here has gotten so nice, I'm forgetting its only March.  Lydia loves wearing her flipflops and got excited the other day when I showed her that Caleb had some too.  They were hand me downs, there is no way I would get a noncrawler flip-flops I'm too practical for that.

Scrapbook Saturday: Whoo you looking at?

Its exciting to watch Caleb grow up and for Lydia to interact with him more.  Its more common now form them to giggle back and forth in the car while we drive somewhere and even at home they are playing together and sharing toys.  If Caleb is unhappy Lydia will find one of his baby toys and bring it to him to make him happy.

Scrapbook Saturday: Superbowl 2011

Our church has team jersey sunday on Super Bowl Sunday and has a lot of fun including the sport in day's service.  This year was no exception.  There is an unusual amount of Pittsburg transplants and Steelers fans in the congregation.  So when they are in the super bowl it is a big deal.  Did I mention the Pastor is one of the Steeler fans?  This year we even did a tailgate even between services with tents, pickup truck and food. In the service there was giveaways, cheerleaders, and marching drums.  Caleb decided in the commotion it was a good time to take a nap in the second pew.  Personally I was cheering for Green Bay.

Scrapbook Saturday: Lydia's First Year

Today there is a bonus I have a 2 page spread to share.  Scroll Down for Close-Ups of each page.

In Decemeber I happened upon this kit, that you downloaded a section everyday and at the end you had enough to scrap an entire year. I was excited to use it for annual highlights. Not long ago I found this template that was made for annual highlights and had the months labeled. So enjoy Lydia's first year. I started in Feburary and went through her 1st birthday instead of starting at her birth.

Scrapbook Saturday: Table Time

Lydia has hit a new milestone, she has an imagination.  She has named her animals and plays little scenes with them.  Before EQUIP she emptied her backpack and arranged the things on her table to play with and then proceeded to ask mommy to play with each thing with her.  First we colored in her coloring book, then we each read a board book, and took turns on the mangna-doodle.  Mommy even surprised her with a new activity, Play-dough!

Scrapbook Saturday: Names

I"m working on making special book for each of the kids.  I"m including their birth as well as other special and significant things.  These pages explain why we named them what we did.  I wanted to use the letter paper from their initials.

One of the Scrapbook Designers I like is having give aways and goodies on her blog right now because its her birthday.  She is offering a coupon for every 5 layouts posted made with selected kits.  I made these 2 pages using Nibbles Scribbles From Apples to Zebras Kit.

Scrapbook Saturday: Park with Grandma Beth

We visited IL last May, it was great fun to visit all the parks in Carbondale and watch Lydia explore them and make new friends with the other kids.

Scrapbook Saturday: Pizza Night

We started making homemade pizza for dinner occasionally and Lydia loves it.  She gets to help with the whole process from spreading the dough, to helping Daddy arrange the pepperoni.

Scrapbook Saturday: Welcome Lydia

This weekend we are celebrating a pair of birthdays.  One of which happened to be a birthday present itself 2 years ago. Lydia arrived 2 days early on the one day mommy didn't wish for her to be born, only because she wanted Lydia to have her own special day.  But alas, mommy and daughter will forever share this special day.

Our special plans include a trip to SeaWorld with her friends to see the fishys for Lydia. And a double date with babysitter for mommy.  Here's to one more year of having a great little girl to share my special day.

Scrapbook Saturday: Autumn in December

Fall happens a little later in Florida than un north in Illinois. Last week when Lydia's grandparents arrived the leaves on the tree in our front yard were starting to fall off. Lydia experienced the great childhood tradition of playing in the leaves, even if it was Christmas and not Halloween.

Scrapbook Saturday: Merry Christmas

I"m excited to share our christmas card this year. I have discovered the world of Digital Scrapbooking this year and made our card from scratch using a desktop publishing and elements that I downloaded. The kit I used to make the card was part of a Christmas Carol blog hop from SKrapper Digitals. Enjoy!

Scrapbook Saturday: Patrick the Pup

So I have discovered a new hobby, Scrapbooking. But I do it differently, on the computer. I found a website with free downloadable software and there are tons of blogs and websites you can get "paper" and embellishments. The software I use is called Scrapbook Flair, they have lots of things to download and an active community of scrappers. Here is one of my pages. I have made. I'm going to try and share one with you every week.

I got this dog during a very special trip to New York City when I was a kid. my brother and I have matching dogs. I also heard about a tradition on a mommy message board about using a large animal and taking pictures every month during the first year and every year there after. I was successful at getting the pictures of Lydia and so far so good with Caleb. you can watch Lydia grow up in the pictures. (you can click on the image for a larger image)
