Bob and I would like to think we haven't accumulated a lot of stuff. Knowing missions was in our future we have never set out to buy nice stuff to furnish our home. We have nice things but not much was new when we bought it. And yet as we are less than 2 weeks from moving across the country we are finding it difficult to want part with the material things in our lives. We will be storing some things with family while we are gone but not much. And then there is the hassle of actually moving the stuff.
There is the verse in Matthew about where to store up treasure “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." (NIV Matthew 6:19-20) This is what the Bible says but in the very practical application that we are living at the moment doesn't make it easy.
Later today someone is coming to buy one of the kid's beds as well as 2 of our 3 dressers. Its one more step of faith we are taking, that we can't take back. We have quit our job, sold our stuff we have nothing to fall back on but the grace of God to propel us towards our goal of serving Bible Translation in Nigeria this year.

You guys are a few giant steps ahead of us since our home is still on the market, but as I have begin preparing for what I know is certain to come I can truly understand EXACTLY what you are feeling. It is a huge step... getting rid of everything and knowing that you cannot replace it. I am praying for you!! God's grace is sufficient!
