Lydia's first Disney trip!

A friend of ours had some free tickets to Disney World so we met up with a group of friends and spent the day at Magic Kingdom. I hadn't been there since a family vacation in '96. Things are very different now. We carpooled into the park. Lydia was in the back-seat with a 2 year old who asked her mommy why the baby wasn't saying, "Goo Goo Ga Ga?" I had to stop from laughing very hard. Lydia was very quiet in the car. There were 4 mommies and 6 kids in our group. Soon after we entered the park a parade started right in front of us. It was a very magical way to start the day. After the parade we went to Fantasyland and saw a marching band play. Some of the older kids had fun dancing to their music. We rode "It's a Small World" and "The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh" Lydia liked the Small World ride. There was so much to see. The Winnie The pooh ride was a little too much. Some of it was in darkness and lots of black lights and sudden movements. We found a place to eat our sack lunches and let the kids run around. One of the character helpers gave us paper crowns for "the Princess and the Frog" We went to Adventureland next to go on the "Magic Carpets of Aladdin". Lydia and I sat this ride out. But we did see Aladdin and Jasmine. Next we went to Mickey's Toontown Fair to see the Princesses. The older girls were very excited. The princesses available were Cinderella, Belle, Aurora. Belle was my favorite at interacting with Lydia. It is a long line to see them but when it is your turn they don't rush at all and make your child feel very special.
After the princess meet and greet we headed to Cinerella's castle to see another parade. The crew getting ready to watch the parade. This one had 2 parts. The first was honoring volunt-ears featuring the Muppets and the second was the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" Parade. There were so many characters in the parade. I think it was my favorite part to see them all. WE left soon after the parade and made our way home. Lydia was so tired she didn't wait to fall asleep.

WE did end up with one unexpected souvenir, Lydia and I both got sick after we got home. As did 2 of the other children we went with. I am finally feeling back to normal 5 days later.

Glad to see you all had such a great time! We totally understand about the Winnie the Pooh ride...Judah thought it was a bit much, too.
